An inside look at the BECE question-setting process 2023

The Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) Board sets questions from twenty (20) different subjects. Candidates are not required to write all the subjects but you will be required to sit for up to ten (10) Junior Waec papers including Mathematics and English Studies.
Below is how the questions are set:
MATHEMATICS:
Total of 122 Questions - Paper 1 contains 60 Obj Questions, Paper 2 contains 60 Objective Questions, Paper 3 (Theory) contains 2 Questions.
ENGLISH:
Paper 1 contains 80 Objective Questions, Paper 2 contains 50 Objective Questions and Paper 3 (Essay) contains 2 Questions
BASIC SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY:
About 122 questions in total.
Paper I – 30 questions obj from basic science and 30 obj questions from basic technology.
Paper II – 30 obj questions from basic technology and 30 questions from computer studies.
Paper III: Technical drawing practical
BUSINESS STUDIES:
About 122 Questions in Total…
Paper I- 30 commerce questions,
Paper II- 30 bookkeeping questions
Paper III: 60 office keeping and keyboarding questions
Keyboarding and manuscript theory questions (Task 1 and Task 2)
PREVOCATIONAL STUDIES:
About 122 Questions in Total…
Paper I– 60 Agricultural science objectives questions
Paper II- 60 Home Economics objectives questions
Paper III- Two essay questions
CULTURAL AND CREATIVE ARTS:
About 122 Questions in Total…
Paper I – 60 Obj questions from Art and craft
Paper II - 60 Obj questions from Music, Drama and Dance
Paper III - Two essay questions.
NATIONAL VALUE EDUCATION:
