JAMB Registrar sends Important Message to Employers: 'It Should Serve as a Model'

Sep 04, 2024  JAMB

According to the latest JAMBulletin obtained on Monday, September 2, Professor Oloyede suggested that employers adopting JAMB's verification methods could reduce the risk of result falsification. Over the years, JAMB has caught several Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) candidates who allegedly manipulated their results. One notable case in 2023 involved Ejikeme Joy Mmesoma, a student from Anglican Girls Secondary School (AGSS) Nnewi, Anambra State, whose forged result gained significant attention. After much debate, Mmesoma and her father eventually admitted that the result was fabricated.

Speaking at the 2024 JAMB management retreat in Lagos State, Oloyede referenced Mmesoma's case while highlighting the ongoing scrutiny of JAMB's operations by the National Assembly. He emphasized that JAMB's management and staff have been consistently recognized for their transparency and integrity. Citing a report from the House of Representatives' investigative committee, Professor Oloyede stated, "JAMB should be commended for its rigorous examination processes, transparency, innovation, and record-keeping systems, which enable the swift retrieval of unaltered transaction records with candidates.”
