UNILORIN Wins N500 Million JAMB Merit Award as Best Institution in Nigeria

The University of Ilorin (Unilorin) has been named the overall best tertiary institution in Nigeria at the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board’s (JAMB) National Tertiary Admissions Performance Merit Award (NATAP-M). The award was presented on Thursday, July 18, in Abuja during the 2024 JAMB policy meeting and the 4th edition of the NATAP-M Award, covering the admission years of 2021/2022 and 2022/2023. JAMB announced this on its website on July 17. Unilorin received a prize of N500 million after earning 12 points in the overall category of the award's five criteria. Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria, came in second with 11 points and a N75 million prize, while Borno State University, Maiduguri, secured third place with nine points and a N50 million prize. Additionally, Kaduna Polytechnic was named the best Polytechnic and second runner-up overall with 12 points, earning a N50 million prize. The Federal College of Education (FCE), Zaria, was recognized as the best College of Education with 11 points, also receiving a N50 million prize.
