Prof. Ishaq Oloyede, the registrar of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), has revealed that the agency has established a seamless system to assist candidates in resolving issues related to checking their results. Prof. Oloyede explained that this system addresses not only problems with the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) but also other matters. According to Legit.ng, some candidates have complained about being unable to check their UTME results due to missing telephone lines.

During a meeting with a coalition of civil society organizations under the West Africa Civil Societies Forum (WACSOF), Oloyede criticized the underutilization of JAMB's redress mechanisms by candidates facing challenges. He emphasized that the most logical step for candidates with missing SIM cards is to retrieve their SIMs, as all transactions with the board are conducted through them. However, he also pointed out that candidates can access information through other channels, such as their email and JAMB profiles.

Prof. Oloyede highlighted that another redress mechanism available to candidates is the ticketing platform, where candidates can open tickets to register their complaints for prompt action. He announced that JAMB plans to launch a platform where candidates with similar issues can collectively address their problems. Furthermore, the JAMB registrar described the various advisories issued by the board as valuable sources of information on registration, examination administration, result checking, and other related matters.
