Kwara State University, Malete, has expelled 175 students for a range of serious infractions, including exam malpractice, theft, and admission fraud. The announcement was made by Dr. Saeedat Aliyu, the acting Director of University Relations, in a statement released on Monday, July 8. 

Dr. Aliyu detailed that the expulsions were the result of thorough investigations and deliberations by the Students’ Disciplinary Committee. These sessions, which took place between October 2021 and March 2024, meticulously reviewed cases brought against the students to ensure that the appropriate disciplinary actions were taken. 

The university underscored its commitment to maintaining high academic and ethical standards. By enforcing strict disciplinary measures, Kwara State University aims to preserve the integrity of its educational environment. The infractions committed by the expelled students ranged from engaging in examination malpractices to participating in theft and fraudulent admission activities, all of which undermine the institution's values.

Dr. Aliyu emphasized that the university remains steadfast in its zero-tolerance policy towards any actions that compromise its standards. She also noted that the expulsions serve as a stern warning to the student body about the consequences of violating university regulations.
